We’re absolutely delighted to announce that the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) will be joining us at the inaugural Festival of Accounting & Bookkeepers (FAB) on March 13-14 2024.
The ICAEW will be joining us a full FAB Partner. That means you'll be able to visit their dedicated stand and listen to ICAEW speakers in our content sessions.
“We’re so happy to be able to announce this for our FAB debut,” said Mike Goldsmith, Event Director at the Festival of Accounting & Bookkeeping. “We’ve proudly hosted ICAEW members young and old on AccountingWEB for many years, speaking on a wide variety of topics. To have this formalised is fabulous news, ensuring we can provide even more expert, relevant content for our audience this March.”
“We are delighted to partner with Festival of Accounting & Bookkeeping, with its enticing program of workshops, inspirational speakers and opportunities to talk to the experts and network with peers,” added Julie Corkish, Head of Practice at ICAEW. “We look forward to being part of the conversation on those areas which are top of mind for the profession.”
The first product of the FAB ICAEW partnership will be a session run by Ian Pay, Head of Data Analytics and Tech at ICAEW. In 'Computers Make Mistakes: How Can We Trust AI?', Ian explores the murky world of AI hallucinations. Is it really a new phenomenon? What are the telltale signs that AI is lying to you? And why does it mean that ethics, bias and scepticism are more important to the profession than ever before?
This session is proof that the ICAEW is dedicated to supporting its members in their exploration and development of knowledge around technology. You can expect more announcements over the coming weeks - keep an eye on the fab.uk website or just pop along to the ICAEW stand on Days One or Two.
